Two line charts comparing the present situation and future expectation components of the Consumer Confidence Index. Confidence in the present ranged from 130 in January 2019 to a high of 176 in January 2019, a low of 68.4 in May 2020, and as of August 2021 was at 147.3. Confidence in the future has ranged from 99 in January 2017 to a high of 115 in October 2018, a low of 77 in March 2020, and as of August 2021 was at 91.4.
