Prince Osei Aboagye

Staff Research Scientist

Team: AI Solutions

Research areas: Multilingual Natural Language Processing, Representation Learning in NLP and Computer Vision, Large Language Model Compression, Learning Efficiency for Large Language Models, Data-Centric AI and Computational Geometry for High- Dimensional Data

Dr. Prince Osei Aboagye joined Visa Research as a Staff Research Scientist in July 2023. He received his Ph.D. in Computing from the University of Utah in 2023, an MS in Mathematics from the University of Texas at El Paso, and a BA in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Ghana. Prior to joining Visa, Prince was a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Utah and a Research Scientist Intern at Visa Research in summer 2021 and 2022. His Ph.D. thesis, titled 'Understanding the Geometry of Structured Vectorized Representations,' focused on geometric solutions and algorithms for understanding the underlying geometric structure of high-dimensional vectorized representations within the context of Multilingual Natural Language Processing, Bias Mitigation (Ethical AI), and Interpretability of Representations.

As a member of the AI Solutions team, Prince's research interests include Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Model Compression and Evaluation, Representation Learning, and Trust and Safety of AI models. He conducts foundational research and creates new products and early prototypes that incorporate research breakthroughs. Dr. Prince regularly serves as a reviewer for machine learning and data mining journals and conferences. He has published in several international journals and conferences, including the International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR), Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD), the Association for Machine Translation in the Americas (AMTA), IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG), and many more.
