Visa applauds the historic court ruling that has given the LGBT community equal rights in marriage.
During arguments in the case, Visa had declared its support as one of the 379 companies signing a friend-of-the-court amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to strike down state bans on gay marriage.
Visa has always emphasized inclusivity, diversity and equality in its own workplace practices.
“We are a strong supporter of the LGBT community and believe the continued expansion of marriage rights will make easier our efforts to treat all of our employees, regardless of sexual orientation, equally,” said Michael Ross, Visa’s Executive Vice President of Human Resources.
Visa’s support of marriage equality is symbolic of its hope for a world in which everyone is accepted everywhere.
