Visa Celebrates Pride Month 2018

Visa was proud to support the LGBTQ+ community at Pride Month 2018 with activities across the U.S. and around the world.

Rainbow flags were waving, music was blasting and there was glitter in the air … and Visa was right in the middle of the festivities!

June is Pride Month, an annual celebration of the LGBTQ community and its allies. At Visa, we foster a culture of inclusion and believe in celebrating the uniqueness of every individual, and we were proud to host internal events across the company and to take part in several external pride marches and events around the globe.

Ashburn, VA

This year marked Visa’s first time participating in Washington, D.C. Pride, and over 100 Visa employees, friends and family members came out June 10 for the parade and an exclusive after party. The crowd shouted Visa’sname proudly and even held up Visa cards!

Bellevue, WA

On June 8 over 65 employees braved the overcast skies and made their way into the streets for our fourth annual Bellevue Pride event. Employees sported Visa Pride t-shirts, waved posters and later refueled with lemonade and rainbow cupcakes!

Lehi, UT

Almost 90 Utah Visa employees and friends marched through Salt Lake City on June 3. The parade culminated with a family-friendly party in the park complete with face painting, slime-making, a bounce house and food galore.

Manila, Philippines

This year was Visa’s first celebration in Manila, which took place at the Marikina Sports Center, where thousands of supporters gathered from all over the country. Despite the rain, 54 members of the Visa team marched loud and proud!

New York, NY

On June 24, Visa participated in our very first New York City Pride Parade. A Pre-Pride party kicked the day off with food, drinks and a special guest … Team Visa Olympic Skier Gus Kenworthy! Then, 168 Visa marchers took to the streets – alongside a car tricked out with rainbow balloons and carrying a DJ!

San Francisco, CA

With 314 marchers, Visa put on quite a show at our second San Francisco Pride Parade on June 24! After a breakfast in our downtown office, participants marched through the streets handing out Visa swag to supporters on the sidewalk along the way.
