Update on Ukraine humanitarian aid and sanctions

During the past few days, all of us at Visa have watched the tragic scenes in Ukraine with deep sadness and disbelief. Our hearts go out to the many people and families seeking safety, shelter and peace following the invasion of Ukraine.

Our number one priority is ensuring the safety and security of our colleagues who are directly impacted. We also want to support, together with our employees and Visa Foundation, humanitarian efforts to help meet basic needs.

To that end, Visa Foundation will provide a $2 million grant to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to support humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine. We are proud to support the courageous work of UNICEF and their humanitarian relief efforts. Visa will also double match all employee donations (up to $1 million) to the Ukraine response funds of UNICEF and the Red Cross.

Beyond these efforts, Visa is taking prompt action to ensure compliance with applicable sanctions, and is prepared to comply with additional sanctions that may be implemented.

Our thoughts are with the Ukrainian people and all those impacted. We hope for a peaceful resolution soon.
