How it Works: One (1) Grand Prize winner and five (5) First Prize winners will be selected in the Visa 2021 Tap to Win Small Business Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”), see Rules at visa.com/taptopaysweepstakes/rules, which runs from May 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021. The Grand Prize winner will have the opportunity to select (in order of preference) five (5) small businesses of the Grand Prize winner’s choice to be vetted by Sponsor/Administrator and the first small business that meets the set criteria in Sponsor’s sole discretion will receive a $25,000 grant (the “Grand Prize Grant”) funded by the Sponsor. Each First Prize winner will have the opportunity to select (in order of preference) five (5) small businesses of the First Prize winner’s choice to be vetted by Sponsor/Administrator and the first small business that meets the set criteria in Sponsor’s sole discretion will receive a $10,000 grant (each a “First Prize Grant”). A winner may not select his/her/their own small business, if applicable. Hereinafter, the Grand Prize Grant and each First Prize Grant will be collectively referred to as “Grants”.
Eligibility for the Grant Program: The Visa 2021 Tap to Pay Small Business Grant Program (the “Grant Program”) is open to small businesses who: (a) have a brick and mortar presence located in the 50 U.S. and D.C.; (b) accept Visa as a form of payment; (c) have a valid employer identification number or taxpayer identification number; (d) are a privately-owned for-profit business (corporation, partnership or sole proprietorship) with an annual revenue under $25MM or fewer than 100 employees; and (e) has been operating since, or prior to, May 1, 2021 [collectively, “Small Business(es)”].
Exclusions: The following types of small businesses are not eligible to receive a Grant (in Sponsor’s sole discretion): (1) businesses that are sexually explicit or promote objectionable material or subject matter, including violence; (2) businesses that operate to promote a political, religious, or social agenda; (3) businesses that are not legally recognized and lawfully conducted in the jurisdiction in which it operates; (4) businesses that present a conflict with the Sponsor (such as a competitor); (5) businesses that would reflect negatively on Sponsor, as determined solely by Sponsor; (6) businesses who have an exclusive relationship with MasterCard, American Express, Discover or any Visa competitor; and (7) businesses whose website fails to adequately describe the business or business activities and/or services, or eligibility, such that it cannot be determined whether the business complies with these Terms. Sponsor will make the final determination if the Small Business is eligible to receive a Grant and if deemed ineligible, the winner from the Sweepstakes will provide an alternate Small Business to be vetted for the Grant Program. In the event the five (5) small businesses provided by a winner and vetted by Sponsor/Administrator do not meet the set criteria in Sponsor’s sole discretion, Sponsor may elect to select a small business of their choice that meets the set criteria to receive such Grant. All decisions by Sponsor will be final.
Disqualification: A Small Business may be disqualified or a Grant may be rescinded in Sponsor’s sole discretion in the event that such Small Business owner, employee, or investor engages in or is at any time found to have previously engaged in conduct that may by affiliation bring Sponsor into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule, or which insults or offends the community or any employee, agent or affiliate of Sponsor or which otherwise may injure Sponsor’s reputation in the sole judgement of Sponsor. By way of example and not limitation, any Small Business owner with a history of drug or excessive alcohol usage, pending public lawsuits, or involvement in public controversies or criminal activities will be disqualified.
