Through a partnership with DPS, ITA Group reissued 70,000 prepaid Visa contactless and EMV chip cards in December 2018. Of the project Larisa said, “Our initial objective for this program was to really be ahead of this payment wave because these prepaid cards are valid for three years, so if we didn’t do it now we were going to be three years behind and that wasn’t going to be acceptable. We wanted to provide a safer, more secure transaction card for the cardholder and we wanted to be seen as forward-thinking by our clients”.
In theme with being future ready, Simon Keys, Vice President of Global Processing at Visa, led a client panel of the Excellence in Innovation finalists. Visa DPS clients were in the spotlight and shared their experiences, perspectives and real-world examples of innovation in consumer payments.
Sara Dolan, Chief Financial Officer of Michigan State University Federal Credit Union stated, “The idea for our innovation started two years ago, while at the Users Conference. Michigan State University Athletics Department was looking for a solution to reduce the amount of cash that they had to send with their athletes when they were traveling to tournaments or to their away games. We knew that we had a really robust debit card product and in order to come up with a solution, we have worked significantly with Visa DPS to make sure that we’ve incorporated technology and the APIs to provide security and the seamless, secure payments experience that our members expect from us.”
Visa DPS recently announced a new suite of APIs available to financial institutions helping them quickly and easily implement the latest payment technologies and deliver innovative, secure and convenient customer experiences.
