Biography
Dr. Saikrishna Badrinarayanan joined Visa Research as a Staff Research Scientist in October 2019. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from University of California, Los Angeles in 2019 and 2016, respectively. The focus of his Ph.D. thesis was on building secure computation protocols with optimal number of rounds of interaction. He received his Bachelor of Technology (with Honors) in Computer Science at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2014. Prior to joining Visa Research, he worked as an intern at Microsoft Research and Visa Research.
As a member of the Security team, his research interests are in Cryptography, Security, and Privacy. His current research focus is on secure multiparty computation (MPC) and its applications to various domains, including secure machine learning, private set intersection, and biometric authentication. He has over 400 citations and has published 18 papers in several international conferences and journals, including Crypto, Eurocrypt, Asiacrypt, Theory of Cryptography Conference (TCC), and Symposium on Theory of Computing (STOC). He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2018 IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Award.
