Biography
Dr. Jiarui Sun joined Visa Research as a staff research scientist in March 2025. Jiarui received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2025. Before joining Visa Research, Jiarui was a Research Assistant at UIUC. His Ph.D. dissertation focused on advancing representation learning techniques on spatial-temporal data from the real world.
As a member of the GenAI foundational team, his research interests include generative machine learning, representation learning, spatial-temporal learning, and reinforcement learning. He has published multiple works in top-tier conferences, including KDD, ECCV, ICRA, CIKM and others.
