Duc Le

Staff Research Scientist

Research areas:  Applied Cryptography, Privacy, and Distributed System

Dr. Duc V. Le joined Visa Research as a Staff Research Scientist in February 2023. In August 2021, Duc received his Ph.D. from Purdue University working on Privacy and Applied Cryptography-related problems for blockchain systems. Prior to joining Visa Research, Duc worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Bern working on formal security analysis of the longest-chain blockchain protocols (Filecoin, Bitcoin, and Ouroboros).

As a member of the cryptocurrencies team, Duc's research focuses on developing practical privacy-preserving solutions for blockchains, proposing interoperability designs between blockchains, and conducting formal security analyses of blockchain systems. He has published his research in top privacy, security, and distributed systems conferences, including the Privacy Enhancing Technologies Symposium (PETS), Financial Cryptography and Data Security (FC), European Symposium on Research in Computer Security (ESORICS), IEEE Security and Privacy (SP), conference on principles of distributed systems (OPODIS), and others.
