Research Areas: Time Series Analysis, Anomaly Detection, and Recommendation Systems

Dr. Dhruv Gelda joined Visa Research as a Staff Research Scientist in November 2018. Dhruv received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 2018. His Ph.D. dissertation was on “Spectroscopic Surface Scattering of Confined Acoustic Phonons in Silicon Nanostructures,” which focused on using experimental techniques (such as time-domain thermoreflectance) and bayesian optimization to understand the acoustic phonon transport in silicon nanostructures. As a member of the Fraud Detection team, his research interests are in risk modeling, time series analysis, anomaly detection and recommendation systems.
