As an official sponsor of the NFL for more than 20 years, Visa helps fans get ready to cheer on their favorite team, even before the first game of the season. From the NFL Draft to the “Race to Kickoff,” and other fun moments in between, Visa recognizes and celebrates the whole team that is involved in making the season a success. This week in Houston, Visa has been celebrating the NFL season, and its teams, fans, clients and merchant partners that make it all happen.
Tonight, as guests walk down the red carpet at NFL Honors, athletes and VIP attendees have the opportunity to experience the magic of the Visa payment ring. Guests can try on the ring, seeing how easy it could be to make a payment simply by tapping the ring at an NFC-enabled payment terminal–the same type of terminal where you tap your phone to pay. Following the event, Visa will be tapping into the future by donating $25,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America serve nearly four million kids and teens annually through memberships and community outreach, in more than 4,300 Club facilities throughout the country. The donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of America provides an opportunity for Visa to use its NFL Honors Red Carpet sponsorship and its relationships with players to shine light on an organization that enables great futures for America’s youth.
The Visa payment ring, a non-battery powered, NFC-enabled wearable device, is an example of a new way to pay and how we’re moving beyond a plastic card in your pocket or wallet. The payment ring is part of Visa’s goal to reimagine and expand all the ways you can pay–whether you click, dip, tap or swipe.
