What are your thoughts on and what have your experiences been around Hispanics in tech?
Miami in particular has many Hispanics in technology, and I think there are two reasons why. 70% of the population is Hispanic and the city has become one of the top entrepreneurial hubs in the United States. Most of those thriving in tech are Hispanics, which we see through our engagement with the local fintech community.
What are you doing to bring the Hispanic culture to life at Visa?
Even though the Miami office is technically within the U.S., Hispanic culture is part of the office DNA and each of us brings it to life. Personally, I like the way that we, Latins, interact with each other. We can be warm and friendly while also getting work done. And of course there is always a futbol discussion…
What are your favorite Hispanic cultural traditions?
I am originally from Argentina, and for us the asado (argentine barbecue) is the number one tradition. Beyond the actual 'art' of preparing it the right way, the asado is the perfect excuse for family and social gatherings. No weekend is truly complete without it!
