The Visa Zero Liability policy has your business covered
- Worry-free buying
- Ultimate security
- Complete fraud protection
The Visa Zero Liability policy means 100 percent protection for you. If your Visa Business card is ever lost or stolen, you are protected against fraudulent use of your card, including transactions made via telephone or on the Internet. Should someone steal your card number while you're shopping, online or off, you pay nothing for the fraudulent activity.
If you notice fraudulent activity on your card, promptly contact your financial institution to report it. It is important to continually monitor your monthly statement to identify any unauthorized transactions. 3
The Visa Zero Liability policy covers Visa Business card transactions (including Internet transactions) processed over the Visa network. The Visa Zero Liability policy does not apply to commercial credit card or ATM transactions, or PIN transactions not processed over the Visa network.
For transactions on other networks, the liability decision is left to the financial institution that issued your card. Your financial institution has the option of extending the same protections afforded by the Visa Zero Liability policy.
Get quick provisional credit for fraud losses
The Visa Zero Liability policy requires all financial institutions issuing Visa products to extend provisional credit for losses from unauthorized card use within five business days of notification of the loss4. However, many major financial institutions affiliated with Visa will issue provisional credit even earlier—within 24 to 48 hours after the loss is reported.
With the Visa Zero Liability policy, you're always protected against charges you don't make. You won't have to pay for unauthorized use of your Visa Business Debit card. We'll return any funds lost from your checking account due to fraudulent use.

More business protection with Visa
Visa has highly sophisticated fraud-screening solutions in place, and works with technology companies every day to enhance them. Field merchants also receive training from Visa on fraud protection.
Visa also mandates cardholder verification codes on the back of cards to help merchants match cards used for purchases with their authorized cardholders. Visa card issuers should have these codes on all newly issued Visa cards as of 2001. The Visa address verification service also helps merchants screen card-not-present transactions.
Regardless of where you buy, enjoy the comfort of knowing your business is protected with Visa.
1Covers U.S.-issued cards only. Does not apply to ATM transactions, certain commercial card transactions, PIN or other transactions not processed by Visa. You must notify your financial institution immediately of any unauthorized use. For specific restrictions, limitations and other details, please consult your issuer.
2Financial institutions may exclude from the Zero Liability policy a transaction made by a person authorized to transact business on the account and/or a transaction made by a cardholder that exceeds the authority given by the account owner.
3Visa Business cardholders may be required to notify their financial institutions within 60 calendar days of the mailing date of the first statement showing any unauthorized transactions. Financial institutions may impose greater liability on the cardholder if the financial institution reasonably determines that the unauthorized transaction was caused by the gross negligence or fraudulent action of the cardholder—which may include your delay for an unreasonable time in reporting unauthorized transactions.
4Provisional credit for unauthorized Visa transactions will be extended to Visa Business cardholders within five business days from receipt of notification. Financial institutions may require written confirmation of the unauthorized Visa transactions before providing provisional credit.
