Look who won Visa's Be There promotion

When Visa launched its Be There promotion last year, we offered cardholders the opportunity of a lifetime—a chance to attend five of the most popular events sponsored by Visa:

Here are the winning experiences and stories of the Be There winners-and how they won!

$11 purchase wins big

Mary Phillips of Salt Lake City, UT is one of several winners of the Be There promotion. Her first reaction was, “This can't be real!” After calling Visa to confirm she had won, she exclaimed, “Finally the universe has evened things out! The trips will bring balance back into our lives.”

When asked about attending the events, she said, “The trips were awesome. [Visa] took care of us... It was just great!” She also enjoyed sharing the experience with other Be There winners.

When Mary had seen an ad for the promotion, she never dreamed using her Visa card for an $11 purchase would make her a Be There winner.

He couldn’t believe it

James Prud'homme of Avon, CT was also a winner of the Be There promotion. At first he couldn't believe it was true.

James's coworkers and friends were excited for him and his wife, Mary Ellen, who said, “Now they're living vicariously through us.”

James and Mary Ellen enjoyed the Kentucky Derby and the Super Bowl. “Visa did a wonderful job.”

While James never dreamed he’d be a winner in a Visa promotion-he was. How did he win? He used his Visa card to buy $16 worth of towels for his son.

Gift giving pays off

William Dymowski of Philadelphia, PA was also a winner of the Be There promotion. The first thing he said when he learned he won was “Can you believe it!” When he told his friends they were happy for him. They were also excited to know that “this really does happen to real people.”

The best part of winning for William? “Traveling...[and] not having to pay for it, doing things you would never do on your own.” William won when his wife used their Visa card to buy a $26 birthday gift for their daughter.

Shocked and surprised

George Khalil of Philadelphia, PA, like other winners of the Be There promotion, couldn't believe he had won. When he found out, he was surprised and excited.

The DAYTONA 500 and Super Bowl were George's favorite events.
