- Abercrombie & Fitch
- Barnes & Noble
- Big 5 Sporting Goods
- Boscov's
- Dillard's
- Kmart
- Kohl's
- Marshalls
- Nordstrom

How to make a purchase that exceeds the balance on your card
To make a purchase in an amount greater than the balance on your card, you will need to use a second form of payment—credit or debit card, cash or check—to cover the difference. When you are ready to make your purchase, tell the cashier in advance the amount you would like applied to your Visa Gift card. The balance will then need to be paid with the second payment method.
Some merchants have the ability to apply your remaining Visa Gift card funds to the transaction—even when you are unsure of the balance—allowing you to complete your purchase with a second payment method, if necessary. The following merchants can provide this service:
- AT&T Wireless (formerly Cingular Wireless)
- Chevron
- Shell
- Walgreens
Check back often as this list will be updated when additional merchants begin to offer this service.
