Use Your Card
Your Visa Prepaid card gives you immediate access to your money so you can shop where you want, pay bills with ease, and get cash when you need it. Activate it and enjoy.
Activate it
Follow the activation instructions that came with your card. Then immediately sign the back to keep others from using it.
Keep it loaded with cash
Your card can be instantly loaded with money wherever you see a Visa ReadyLink logo while you’re shopping. Just take your card and cash to the register or kiosk, follow the instructions, and always save your receipt.
Direct Deposit
Talk about convenience. Have your card automatically funded with your paychecks, tax refunds, or government disbursements (i.e. social security or child support). Contact your card provider via their toll-free phone number or website to learn more.
Where to use it
Use your card online, over the phone, and at the millions of places where Visa debit cards are accepted — supermarkets, clothing stores, drug stores, restaurants, web sites, gas station pumps, and many more. Your money is replaced if the card is lost or stolen.
Pay bills
You can use your Visa Prepaid card to pay just about any one-time or recurring bill. Follow the instructions on your bill and enter your card details as requested. Then decide what you’ll do with the time you save.
Get cash
To get cash at the ATM, insert your card into the machine and enter your PIN. Select "checking" to make a withdrawal and enter the amount of cash you want. To get cash back when making a purchase, swipe your card and choose the "debit" button, then select the cash back amount you want from the screen options, and enter your PIN. Learn more.
Make purchases greater than your balance
If your purchase is greater than the balance on your card, some merchants may allow you to use a second form of payment—cash, check, or credit card—to cover the difference. Simply tell the cashier in advance how much to deduct from your Visa Prepaid card and how much you will pay with the second payment method. Learn more.
Return items
When you return an item, you’ll need the Visa Prepaid card you used to make the purchase. If the merchant’s return policy allows it, the merchant will credit the amount back onto your card. The credit usually takes three to seven business days to appear back on your card. Learn more.
