Use Your Card

Here's a quick guide to show you how the Visa Incentive card works.

Immediate access to your money

Your Visa Incentive card comes loaded with funds. The money on your card is yours to spend when you want, wherever Visa Debit cards are accepted. All you have to do is activate it.

Activate it

Follow the activation instructions that came with your card. Then immediately sign the back to keep others from using it.

Where to use It

Use your card online, over the phone, and at millions of places that accept Visa Debit cards — restaurants, supermarkets, clothing stores, web sites, gas stations, and more. You get complete shopping protection through Visa's Zero Liability Policy1, which safeguards you from unauthorized purchases if your card is lost or stolen.

Special card discounts

Access great deals and discounts from popular merchants you use every day. Go to Visa Discounts and enjoy special offers for Visa cardholders

Get cash

While many incentive cards cannot withdraw cash at ATMs, if your card is issued with a PIN for ATM access you can insert your card and enter the PIN to get money. Click here to find out how to get a PIN.

Pay bills

You can use your Visa Incentive card to pay just about any bill. Follow the instructions on your bill and enter your card details as requested. It's a good idea to check your balance before paying bills to avoid declines and late payments. Do not sign up for recurring bill payments unless your card is reloadable and you plan on funding it regularly.

Return Items

When you return an item, you'll need the Visa Incentive card you used to make the purchase. If the merchant's return policy allows it, the merchant will credit the amount back onto your card. The credit usually takes three to seven business days to appear.

Make purchases greater than your balance

If your purchase costs more than the balance on your card, you will need to use a second form of payment — cash, check, or credit card — to cover the difference. Simply tell the cashier in advance that you will be using more than one payment method.

1Visa's Zero Liability policy covers U.S.-issued cards only and does not apply to ATM transactions, PIN transactions not processed by Visa, or certain commercial card transactions. Cardholder must notify issuer promptly of any unauthorized use. Consult issuer for additional details or click here.
